Dr. David Twitchell drives an innovation strategy to build business opportunities that advance the reach of our system’s capabilities in service to our patients, members, and broader communities. Dr. Twitchell is also responsible for system pharmacy services across the system, advancing equitable access to exceptional care. Before being appointed to this role, Dr. Twitchell oversaw all pharmacy operations and clinical activity for the hospital, its clinics, and the retail, specialty, mail order, and health insurance departments as Chief Pharmacy Officer. Prior to joining BMC Health System, Dr. Twitchell founded and operationalized a company dedicated to helping heath systems develop specialty pharmacy services. Prior to joining BMCHS in 2011, he was also a critical care clinical specialist and the Director of Pharmacy at Colorado-area medical centers. Dr. Twitchell received his Doctor of Pharmacy and his bachelor’s degree in pharmacy studies from the University of Connecticut.
